The exhibition

A constellation of contemporary artistic responses to vulnerability, transformation, resilience, memory, technology, ritual and survival.

Concept

Living in the threshold.

SURVIVAL RITUALS gathered artists working at the edge of a shared condition: living suspended between a world that is failing and one that has not yet arrived.

Drawing on anthropologist Victor Turner’s theory of liminality — the state of being “betwixt and between” — the exhibition treated the threshold not as a temporary passage, but as a place of habitation.

The body became the clearest site of this condition: wired into systems, shaped by screens, dependent on the machine yet hungry for what it cannot give. Each artwork functioned as a ritual in itself — a small, complete gesture of survival.

“We are no longer passing through a crisis; we are learning to live inside one.”
Anna Avetova, curator

Shaul Tzemach

Sculptures developed between mathematics, algorithmic thinking and material reality preserve the memory of structures under pressure and ask how form survives continuous transformation.

Myriam de Wurstemberger

Safe Space — a full-body suit made from 24,000 brass needles — holds protection and threat in a single luminous, untouchable form.
