Anna
Anna Avetova – Ukrainian art manager, curator, and founder of the Tuasho art agency (since 2016).
She has been a creative director at Mironova Gallery and Kyiv City Gallery Lavra, implementing several successful projects, e.g., 'Environment of Existence Manifesto' in partnership with WWF Ukraine, 'Memory Inversion,' 'Verbalization', and others. These art shows brought together the most prominent modern Ukrainian painters, sculptors, photographers, and street artists. The critical part of her work is a direct attitude to the figures - it is the verification and implementation of modern and transparent rules instead of modifications of the participants of the art sphere. Documenting and approving contractual obligations, the practices of positioning the artist, and the disclosure of individual strategy allowing the artist to adapt to the processes around him. This professional method originated from the need for more information, and the legal background allowed us to respond appropriately to the system's shortcomings and start building our own. Using inquiries from artists and experience gained in projects, fairs, and galleries, Anna, as a manager, has formulated the scope of her competencies and works to develop Ukrainian art.
In her curatorial practices, she closely interacts with environmental issues, emotional freedom, interdisciplinary cooperation, language and communication problems, etc. Her other essential projects include the D12 group exhibition within the Creative Ukraine Forum, a series of personal artists' exhibitions at the barocco-styled Kyiv art center, performances, open-air art shows, and VR and museum exhibitions.

An important area of her activities is searching for and implementing modern and transparent rules of interaction between participants in the art sphere. Documentation and implementation of contractual obligations, careful positioning of the artist, and development of an individual strategy that allows the artist to adapt to the processes around him. Such a professional guideline appeared due to the need for more information. Her legal background allowed her to appropriately respond to the system's flaws and build her own.
Using inquiries from artists and experience gained in projects, fairs, and galleries, Anna, as a manager, has formulated the scope of her competencies and works to develop Ukrainian art.
Anna also dedicates a significant part of her activity to prestigious art fairs, participating in Art Market Budapest, Kyiv Art Fair, Volta Basel, Kyiv Photo, Photo Basel Berlin, and 2020 online shows Photo LA and Cadaf. She was an ambassador of Roger Ballen's and Boris Mikhailov's artworks at these worldwide events. In addition, she researches and analyses the situation in the art market, writes articles, makes reports, and participates in public discussions. The acquired experience became the basis for her dissertation research for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
She graduated from the Faculty of Art Studies of the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management, the master's program of the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine, and the Faculty of Theory and History of Art of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Since 2019, she has been studying in the Ph.D. program at the Modern Art Research Institute and working on dissertation research titled "Ukrainian art market 2014-2020 in the context of socio-cultural transformations."
