LAND FAIRArtzebs group (Voladymyr Gulich, Anastasia Loyko, VJ Yarkus (Yaroslav Kostenko). Small Hall of the Lavra Gallery October 24 – November 9, 2019
What is land for a Ukrainian? Earth is an object of worship; it is the one that gives birth to life and thanks to which we exist, a special part of the ecosystem of the planet. Volodymyr Gulych continues the theme of Earth's ecology in his paintings. The problem of thoughtless use of natural resources. Large-scale constructions for the sake of kopecks in the future, political goals, which led to the tragedy of the Dnipro, the Kakhovsky Sea, the North Crimean Canal. Volodymyr Gulich, artist: "Now my hero is a person who is used by the industry for its own benefit. When a person comes to his senses, it will be too late to fight for a clean breath of air - the land will already be poisoned." The members of the Artzebs group believe that in the light of recent changes, the implementation of Ukrainian rights to land looks very doubtful. The law exists, but there is no real opportunity for those who want to take care of their land. Artist Nastya Loyko wants to give this opportunity to everyone - one decimeter of Ukrainian land from the Grunt \ Land installation costs only 20 euros. The light painting of VJ Yarkus will give an opportunity to penetrate into the very structure of the earth. The Artzebs group, in creative collaboration with musicians Volodymyr Sorochenko, DJ Kalashnikov, DJ Bely, and other guests, will create a light video performance in the courtyard of the Lavra gallery. Artzebs group artists aim to continue this project, inviting other artists to join and present their works within the concept in the future on a specially created online platform https://artzebs.com.
LIGNUMSerhiy Kirillov Great Hall of the Lavra Gallery October 24 – November 9, 2019
The theme of preserving the natural ecosystem continues in the Lignum project by Serhiy Kirillova. According to the artist, the forest is a special system that has its own structure and rhythms. The author's neo-impressionist works convey the idea of an infinite variety of forms, phenomena and states of nature and man. The author is looking for harmony, an ideal composition, and colors that match the mood. His creations are distinguished by a special color range, complete immersion in it, as in a certain substance. Unexpected angles, spatial depth, the play of textures and the combination of different densities of layers of oil paint make his works extremely expressive. With the help of the construction of space, the contrast of light and dark, warm and cold, flat and relief, endless associations are born, cleansed of the taint of mundanity, filled with the harmony of the coexistence of man and nature.
EMERGE WAVEArseniy Melnyk / Artem Brazhnyk Great Hall of Lavra Gallery October 24 – November 9, 2019
The "Emerge Wave" exhibition will take place within the framework of the "Fresh View" project, which is annually held by the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration among graduates of art universities. The exhibition will feature the works of the winner of the competition, Arseniy Melnyk, as well as the young artist Artem Brazhnyk, who develops and continues the theme of visual expression of his fellow artist.
Artem Brazhnyk, author: "Choosing the right direction is very important in life, life is like swimming. That is why my seascapes with yachts are presented at the exhibition. Also interesting is my new series of paintings depicting architecture, in particular Paris, in which several images are intertwined at once, thus allowing you to look at the world from a new angle, literally and figuratively.
Arseniy Melnyk, author: "If art exists, it does not depend on a person. The artist is a random passer-by, the picture is an attempt to explain to himself what he saw, but could not understand."
Tetyana Mironova, director of the Lavra Kyiv City Art Gallery: "by opening the annual project "Fresh View", organized with the support of the Department of Culture of the KMDA, we hope not only to find and discover new talents among young artists, but also to give them the opportunity to see their works with from a different point of view - in a gallery exhibition, to feel the full responsibility of the creator to the viewer."
The opening of the large-scale TRIART EVENING project will take place on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. on the territory of the Lavra Municipal Gallery (7 Lavrskyi Lane).
