Sydorenko
Sidorenko Victor (1953) He was born in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan. He has been painting since the age of 8, and has been interested in photography since the age of 10. After graduating from high school and compulsory military service, he entered the Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts), graduating with honors in 1979. A student of Professor, laureate of the USSR State Prize Boris Kosarev, in 1981 he became a graduate student of creative workshops of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (supervisor - academician, Professor Sergei Grigoriev). He has lived and worked in Kyiv since 1985. In 1992 he received the title of Honored Worker of Ukraine, since 1997 - a full member and vice-president of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, in 1998 - People's Artist of Ukraine. In 2001 he founded and headed the Institute of Contemporary Art of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine. In 2001 Victor Sidorenko founded the Institute of Contemporary Art of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine, which conducts basic research in all types of contemporary art, practical and research activities aimed at developing professional contemporary art, introduction of new art technologies and practices. The author's project "The Mill of Time", which represented Ukraine at the 50th anniversary Venice Biennale in 2003, and the multimedia project "Authentication", represented in 2006 at the international festival "Eastern Neighbors" in the Netherlands, were very successful. In 2007 he was the co-curator of the Ukrainian project at the Venice Biennale, and in 2011 and 2013 - the commissioner of Ukrainian projects. Participant of domestic and international exhibitions. Personal exhibitions were exhibited at the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv), Kharkiv Art Museum, State Art Gallery (Lviv), State Museum of Arts. A. Kasteeva of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty), Museums of Contemporary Art KIASMA (Helsinki, Finland), museums and galleries of other countries. Sidorenko's works are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Museum of Contemporary Art KIASMA (Helsinki, Finland), in the collection of Yale University in the USA.
